KTF announced that ‘Web Message Call Service’, the upgrade service of Message Call service, would be newly provided on March 21, 2005. The new service from KTF provide KTF user to convert text typed in the web page to voice, and send voice message as Message Call.

‘Web Message Call Service’ allows two methods: the user may type the text using TTS (text-to speech), which allows the user to select the voice of gender, or record voice through microphone for convenience. The message can convey to both PSTN and wireless network.

In advance of the service, KTF described not only that the receiver will receive the message in the same course of incoming call, and listen to the message as answering the phone, but also that the service offers maximum 20 group sending concurrently. Herein KTF forecasted that the service would provide the new culture of convenient message to the KTF customer. KTF added the comments in that the service will be popular to teenager, who is tending to express the personal characteristic traits as well as the manager or leader of the organization.

The simple operation can send voice message by typing the text using TTS (text-to speech), which allows the user to select the voice of gender, or recording voice through microphone in the web page (http://www.voisn.com).

It costs 30 won (about 3 cents) to send 150 bytes message (about 75 Korean characters) 50 won (about 5 cents) to send 300 bytes message (about 150 Korean characters)
Optionally, the KTF customer may register for package, and in the package 20 free messages are granted in the cost of 500 won (about 50 cents).

Si-woo, Park, who is the application service team leader in KTF, said, “The message call service is obtaining the popularity gradually, and currently the number of subscriber is about 60 thousands”, and said additionally, “The start of the web message call service will contribute the activity of the service relating to TTS”.

Somewhat KTF offer Message Call monthly subscriber the events in which present gifts of digital camera, MP3 player, couple ring, and so on.
